The Restore Britain leader says what needs to happen "will be incredibly painful" but "absolutely necessary to save our home"

Rupert Lowe has said a Restore Britain government should expect "civil unrest and rioting" in response to its policies, and that the public "must be prepared too".

The Restore Britain leader wrote on X at 09:49 BST on Sunday 18th October: "A Restore Britain Government will do what needs to be done - civil unrest and rioting will inevitably follow. We must be ready for that, and the public must be prepared too.

"What needs to happen will be incredibly painful.

"But it is all absolutely necessary to save our home."

Mr Lowe did not specify in the post what measures he was referring to. Less than two hours earlier, at 08:01 BST, he had pledged that a Restore government would seek agreements with third countries to accept some serious offenders who hold only British citizenship, and would strip citizenship from dual nationals convicted of serious crimes. The post came the morning after violent protests in France, where Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said 1,800 people had been arrested and around 500 police, firefighters and paramedics hurt, AFP reported.

Restore Britain's campaigns director, Chris Downes, quoted Mr Lowe's earlier third-country post at 11:15 BST, adding: "Mass denaturalisations." At 13:31 BST he wrote: "'I'm British because I was born here!' No, you aren't." Neither post stated that it reflected party policy.
